Use It Better is one of the most promising Polish startups focused on the convergence of big data, human computer interaction (HCI) and gaming. The company is backed by private and institutional investors from both Poland and United States. We provide service that enable top online game developers (inc. Kabam, Peak Games, Lolapps/6waves) to remotely record how people are playing their games and then perform both qualitative and quantitative analysis. We are now looking for people that love big data and would like to help us pursue our big vision which was nicely covered by VentureBeat.

As the Data Scientist, you will be responsible for:

- Developing and testing hypotheses across all functional areas at Use It Better
- Researching and applying multidisciplinary techniques
- Designing, implementing and analyzing algorithms
- Leading development of prototypes and guiding solutions into production
- Establishing company?s strategic research roadmap
- Serving as a primary person to consult on complex issues, contributing key
ideas

Requirements:

- Obsession with data and its accuracy
- Must have experience in the design and prototyping of machine learning
algorithms
- A thorough knowledge of underlying machine learning theories
- Proven research background, in academic or industrial work
- Awareness of business objectives and ability to apply this understanding to
recommend and implement product development for difficult and complex
technical issues
- Ability to script experimental solutions and use off-the-shelf statistical
analysis tools
- Ability to quickly prototype experimental solutions and develop robust,
maintainable production systems
- Strong results driven personality with a high level of enthusiasm, energy and
confidence
- Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and presentation skills
- Understanding what a startup company is and what are the pros and cons of it

Desirable:

- PhD in computer science or related field (i.e. psychology)
- Familiarity with SQL and some programming languages (i.e. PHP, C++)
- Industry experience with large scale algorithm challenges in the consumer Internet space
- Enthusiasm for online gaming and/or user experience
